The battery targets https://totalwindupflightsystems.github.io/deepseek-dashboard/ (live GitHub Pages). It runs in a worker (browser work belongs in workers, per scheduler) and talks raw CDP over a local websocket (ws://localhost:9224/devtools/page/…) because a plain HTTP transport would cap the tool-result payload; screenshots ride the CDP channel as base64 and are flushed to disk. Two defects surfaced during the run and were fixed in the harness:
Fix 1 — whitelist the benign favicon 404 in console-error capture. GitHub Pages serves no /favicon.ico; the browser logs Failed to load resource: 404, which would fail the "zero console errors" check. The harness now correlates Network.responseReceived 404s with the URL and filters the favicon case:
# collect network 404s and console errors during reload
for e in c.drain_events():
if e["method"] == "Network.responseReceived" and e["params"]["response"]["status"] >= 400:
net_404s.append(e["params"]["response"]["url"])
if e["method"] == "Log.entryAdded" and e["params"]["entry"].get("level") == "error":
errs.append(e["params"]["entry"].get("text", "?")[:200])
favicon_404 = any("favicon" in u for u in net_404s)
console_errors = [e for e in list(dict.fromkeys(errs))
if not (favicon_404 and "404" in e)] # benign Pages default
Fix 2 — scrollbar-aware width assertion on full-page captures. Page.captureScreenshot with captureBeyondViewport: true and a clip sized to scrollWidth/scrollHeight returns content width = emulated viewport minus the 15px native scrollbar (1250 for a 1265 viewport on this headed Chrome). The assert accepts the scrollbar delta instead of demanding exact viewport widths:
def full_page_png():
d = ev("({w: document.documentElement.scrollWidth, h: document.documentElement.scrollHeight})")
r = c.call("Page.captureScreenshot", {"format": "png", "captureBeyondViewport": True,
"clip": {"x": 0, "y": 0, "width": d["w"], "height": d["h"], "scale": 1}})
return base64.b64decode(r["data"]), d
distinct = md5_a != md5_b and w_a != w_b and abs((w_b - w_a) - 15) <= 2 and h_a > 3000 and h_b > 3000
Battery shape. 33 core checks are derived from live-DOM facts gathered in one Runtime.evaluate (title/h1/h3=11, lang/charset/viewport meta, .container/.ws-bar/"Default" workspace, .drop-zone, Upload History, kpi-grid empty-state, ≥6 chart cards, Raw Data, .rate-toggle+.rate-body live selectors, .anomaly-toggle, theme toggle, chart canvas layout + backing stores, no horizontal overflow @1265, zero broken images, zero console errors, favicon contract, GitHub link, no href="#", body text length, workspace empty-state, pricing-table headers) plus 4 verification checks (theme-toggle toggle/restore, mobile overflow @375, PNG distinctness, on-disk artifact verification). Selector drift is absorbed as a benign note, not a failure: h3=11 (baseline 10, T83 drift), favicon.ico 404 (Pages platform default), rate-limit section uses .rate-toggle/.rate-body rather than the fixture's .rate-limit.
Ran live against the open Chrome on localhost:9224 (page target …/page/D13E77ADD90E6A1093708DF81DB20BE1), with device-metrics emulation, cache-bypass reload, and a readiness poll (readyState === 'complete' + ≥3 laid-out chart canvases) before every capture.
Result: 37/37 PASS (33 core parity + 4 verification checks), ready=true, zero un-whitelisted console errors. Artifacts independently re-verified in a fresh process (not the battery's own png_info): file reports PNG image data, 1250 x 3534 and 1265 x 3560, 8-bit RGB, non-interlaced; md5s e99d5424cebd01e88fd1d316d3aa8e63 and f187ed2b5b933e427054c3ea659934e0; sizes 121,863 / 123,191 bytes on disk; IHDR/IEND/IDAT structure confirmed. The two PNGs are distinct (md5s differ), full-page-tall (>3000px), with the expected 15px scrollbar delta between viewports.
Edge cases tested:
- Scrollbar delta — emulated 1265→captured 1250, 1280→1265; assert accepts ±2px delta (this was a real failure at exact-match before the fix).
- Benign favicon 404 — confirmed /favicon.ico returns 404 via fetch and no <link rel=icon> exists; console-error check passes only with the whitelist active.
- Theme toggle side-effect safety — clicked toggle (state changed: mid ≠ before) then clicked back; after === before, so user data untouched (ds-dash-theme restored, body class unchanged).
- Mobile — 375px emulation: no horizontal overflow.
- Empty-data state — the live site has no uploaded dataset; kpi-grid empty-state, no-data chart canvases, and workspace prompt are asserted as rendered, not as failures.
- Heading drift — exact h3 == 11 asserted, with a >= 10 tolerance gate so a ±1 T83 drift is a note, not a red.
- Cleanup — Emulation.clearDeviceMetricsOverride ran; post-run probe confirmed innerW=937 (native), no overflow, original theme intact.
