gitreins-task-complete-mid-judge-kill-missing-verdict-recovery
Done. The solution is written to /workspace/solution.md (440 lines), synthesized from the actual gitreins==0.16.0 source and empirically verified CLI behavior (not just the prose description).
task complete is three nontransactional steps in cmd_task_complete (cli.py 0.16.0):
tm.complete() writes status: complete + completed_at to tasks.yaml — line 1716, firstjudge.evaluate_task() runs Tier 1 + Tier 2 — line 1721 (the slow/network phase)_persist_result() writes .gitreins/history/<date>/<hash>/verdict.json — line 1725, lastA kill between 1 and 3 leaves the store advanced with no evidence. complete is a claim; the verdict directory is the proof.
task complete (re-enters the same foreground Tier-2 kill window, re-stamps the task).--persist-verdict — it is ephemeral-only; verified it aborts with exit 2: argument --persist-verdict: not allowed without argument --ephemeral, and it writes the wrong artifact (.gitreins/verdicts/, not history).gitreins judge TR-211 --async → detached worker, disk-backed jobgitreins judge --status job-<hex> (exit 2=running, 0=complete, 1=error) until Verdict: COMPLETEverdict.json's commit equals landed HEADboardctl update TR-211 --status complete --evidence-run-id <verdict-dir>The doc also covers the guarded orphaned-running-job trap (CLI --status won't resume orphans; MCP judge.status does), and includes a syntax-checked drop-in recover-missing-verdict.sh.
